The purpose of this page is to provide objectives on this project in whole as well as in detail parts.
This is a live document and will be updated as changes have been made to any part(s) of the project's building blocks.
In order for WPP to have an interactive overview of data at their finger tips, this project started in April 2019.
Qliksense is used to accomplish this objective as it can answer follow up questions in addition to provide the big picture.
Separation of concerns has been implied as the app is being built. The project includes a load app as well as visual app.
The load app has been created to pull data from a variety of resources including the following:
The data is being retrieved and then saved into static data files in the format of QVD files.
The purpose of this app is to provide all the visuals using data from QVDs created by LOAD_WPP.
This app will provide graphs and numbers that can be viewed, modified and filtered. Also, there are parts that have been shared between the apps. They are called "Master items".
The WPP Grants Overview has four separate sheets reflecting four different purposes:
Each sheet and and each graph is explained in details below.
The purpose of this app is to provide metadata about the app such as Author and Data definitions.
The footer sections together with the sections on this sheet and the color theme are part of a template applied in all sheets and all apps and it is standardized by SMPH IT.
This sheet's purpose is to provide an overview on the total approved grants and total amount awarded. It classifies them based on their fund, subfund and internal program.
This view allows the user to see the entire big picture of the grants or just part of the grants based on their selections and filters.
The following charts and items are made available on this sheet:
Each chart is being explained in more details below.
The main reason for adding this is to provide a single place for applying multiple filters. This way, the user will have all classifications and useful filters right on the page without having to search for them. Most of classifications from Blackbaud are added into this pane. The filters will allow the user to limit the view of the graphs by certain selection within every filter that has a selection applied to it. This item is a master item and it has been added to all sheets.
The purpose of this item is to provide the total of the amount awarded based on applied filters.
The purpose of this item is to provide a total count of the awarded requests based on applied filters.
This bar graph has been created to provide an overview of the grants based on their main Fund and/or Subfund. This item gives a very flexible view. The user can choose either to see the view based on the Grant Amount, OAC Amount, PERC Amount or total count. Data has been grouped based on Subfund as well as Fund.
This pie chart is created to provide a good overall view on how data is distributed based on this category. This chart groups each category separately. It does not merge them together. For other groupings, please refer to Internal Programs under Annual Report sheet.
This is a breakdown on any awarded grant based on fiscal year granted. This item has two tabs that allow the user to view the data either by Grant Amount or Count. For the comparison purpose only, there is a reference line created for average.
The purpose of this sheet is to provide details on outcomes. At the time of this writing, this sheet only holds data from Blackbaud Grantmaking and REDCap. Publication data is still being processed.

The purpose of this item is to provide the total amount leveraged based on applied filters.

This pie chart provides a view on which source type the leveraged fundings are coming from. These are the categories being considered:
This pie chart will give a view of the 10 most active funding organizations where the WPP grantees were able to leverage funds from.
The purpose of creating this sheet is to provide all the necessary data to generate the annual report for WPP.

This tabbed item is created to project different groupings of awarded requests based on their internal programs. The three tabs include:
These are showing three groups only where all research categories are grouped together (Community, Education and Research)
This one groups based on a chart provided in annual report. Based on that, the classification will be follow this pattern:
This pie chart has the original split based on data from database. The reason to add this in is to have a way to compare numbers and also breakdowns if needed.

The purpose of this sheet is to provide a list of filtered selection of the requests. This sheet is the only sheet that provides a detailed view of selected data and is very useful tool to identify certain requests based on filters applied.
This sheet also provides a filter pane in addition to the table view.
